The Positive Outcomes of Living from the Human Default State
Introduction
Over the past two years, a body of work has emerged that describes the human default state — the neurological and experiential architecture present at birth — and traces what happens when it is preserved, what happens when it is disrupted, and what becomes possible when it is recovered.
This document is not a summary of that work. It is an answer to a single question: what are the positive consequences of living from the default state? Each section below describes one outcome, grounded in a specific paper. Together, they form a picture of what human life looks like when the Default Mode Network operates as a conduit rather than a narrator, when the right hemisphere leads and the left hemisphere serves, and when consciousness is no longer filtered through accumulated, unprocessed material.
The papers referenced here are freely available on Zenodo. Links are provided below each section.
